Webinar on Cambrian–Ordovician Iran Biodiversity Events Concludes, Recording Now Available

The UNESCO Chair on Coastal Geo-Hazard Analysis successfully hosted its scheduled webinar on the Cambrian–Ordovician biodiversity events of Iran and their role in global geological divisions.

The session, presented by Dr. Hadi Jahangir – Special Research Assistant and PhD in Paleontology – took place on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM. During the webinar, Dr. Jahangir examined how fossil records from the Cambrian–Ordovician period in Iran are contributing to the redefinition of global geological boundaries.

Key topics included Iran’s unique paleontological record, its correlation with major biodiversity turnovers, and the potential for establishing revised global stratigraphic reference points.

A recorded video of the full presentation is attached to this news post for those who missed the live event or wish to review the content.
